In Q3 2023, the tower defense genre saw some interesting trends on the Android platform in Ukraine. Here’s a closer look at how the top 5 games performed in terms of downloads, revenue, and weekly active users, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Released by Homa in March 2023, Ammo Fever: Tower Gun Defense experienced notable fluctuations in its metrics. Downloads spiked to 21K in the last week of July and then gradually declined to around 3.6K by the end of September. Revenue showed modest gains, peaking at $2K in mid-August. Weekly active users surged to 45K in early September before stabilizing around 34K towards the end of the quarter.
Plants vs. Zombies™ by ELECTRONIC ARTS, a long-standing favorite, maintained steady download rates, averaging around 8K per week. Weekly active users hovered between 31K and 39K throughout the quarter, showing consistent engagement. However, the game did not generate any revenue during this period.
Rush Royale: Tower Defense TD from MY.GAMES B.V. saw a steady revenue stream, peaking at $11K in early August. Downloads saw a significant drop from 8.6K in late June to about 2.8K by the end of September. Despite this, weekly active users remained relatively high, fluctuating between 35K and 56K throughout the quarter.
Stick Hero: Tower Defense by Rocket Succeed Together showed a growth in downloads, reaching a peak of 8.9K in late August before tapering off to around 2.4K by the end of September. Weekly active users peaked at 45K in late August but saw a decline to around 32K towards the end of the quarter. This game did not generate any revenue during this period.
Plants vs Zombies™ 2, also by ELECTRONIC ARTS, saw its highest revenue of $384 in mid-July, with downloads peaking at 6.2K in mid-August. Weekly active users were impressive, consistently ranging from 56K to 76K, indicating strong player engagement throughout the quarter.
