During the third quarter of 2023, the carpooling and ridesharing app market in Brazil saw significant activity, with notable trends in weekly downloads and active users across the top 5 apps. Here's a closer look at the performance of Uber - Request a ride, inDrive. Save on city rides, Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver, BlaBlaCar: Carpooling and Bus, and Ubiz Car Brasil.
Throughout Q3 2023, Uber - Request a ride maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads ranging from approximately 262K to 329K. Active users exhibited a steady increase, climbing from around 12.6M at the start of the quarter to over 13.4M by the end of September.
inDrive. Save on city rides saw weekly downloads fluctuate between 132K and 174K. Active users showed some variability but generally hovered around 3.4M to 3.7M, with a notable peak in early September reaching approximately 3.7M.
For Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver, weekly downloads were consistently strong, ranging from 91K to 140K. Active users remained relatively stable, peaking at about 1.4M in mid-September before slightly decreasing towards the end of the quarter.
BlaBlaCar: Carpooling and Bus experienced a growth in weekly downloads, starting at around 62K and reaching up to 87K in early September. Active users also showed an upward trend, increasing from approximately 1.4M to over 1.7M during the same period.
Ubiz Car Brasil had a more modest performance in comparison, with weekly downloads ranging between 8K and 11K. Active users saw a gradual rise from about 54K at the beginning of the quarter to nearly 58K by the end of September.
