State of AI Apps Report 2025 is Live!
During the third quarter of 2023, the top carpooling and ridesharing apps in the United Kingdom showed varied performance in terms of downloads and active users. Here’s a closer look at the trends for each app, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Uber - Request a ride experienced significant growth in weekly downloads, starting from 87.6K in late June and peaking at approximately 103.2K in mid-September. Active users also saw an upward trend, beginning at around 1.83M in late June and reaching nearly 1.98M by mid-September.
Bolt: Request a Ride maintained a steady download rate throughout the quarter, with weekly downloads fluctuating around the 43K to 49K range. Active users showed a gradual increase, starting from 478K in late June and rising to about 494K by the end of September.
Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver saw a more stable trend in downloads, averaging around 20K per week. Active users remained relatively constant, fluctuating between 233K and 253K throughout the quarter.
Lyft had a modest number of weekly downloads, ranging from 5.5K to 7.9K. Active users for the app remained stable, hovering around 80K for most of the quarter, with minor fluctuations.
Lastly, Careem – rides, food & more saw a gradual increase in weekly downloads, starting at 3.3K in late June and reaching up to 5.5K by mid-September. Active users mirrored this trend, increasing from around 9.8K to 14.5K over the quarter.
