In the third quarter of 2023, the carpooling and ridesharing app market in Romania showcased some notable trends across the top five applications. According to data from Sensor Tower, Bolt: Request a Ride, Uber - Request a ride, BlaBlaCar: Carpooling and Bus, Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver, and Cabify each had unique performance trajectories.
Bolt: Request a Ride had a strong quarter with downloads peaking at 32.8K in mid-July. Despite a slight dip towards the end of the quarter, weekly downloads remained robust, culminating at 27.2K in the final week of September. Weekly active users fluctuated, starting at 195.5K and eventually rising to 202.5K by the end of the quarter.
Uber - Request a ride also showed consistent performance. Download numbers varied slightly, beginning at 13.7K and closing at 12.9K. Weekly active users remained relatively steady, maintaining around 130K throughout the quarter, with minor fluctuations.
BlaBlaCar: Carpooling and Bus saw a more varied download pattern, starting at 2.98K and experiencing a peak of 3.93K in mid-July before settling at 2.76K by the end of September. Weekly active users exhibited a slight downward trend, beginning at 19.5K and ending at 18.3K.
Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver displayed a stable download trend, beginning at 1.42K and peaking at 1.81K in mid-September. Weekly active users showed a positive trend, starting at 7.37K and rising to 8.02K by the end of the quarter.
Lastly, Cabify had modest download numbers, starting at 287 and peaking at 375 in mid-July. Weekly active users had a slight increase, beginning at 2.16K and ending at 2.12K.
