In the third quarter of 2023, the fast food and fast casual restaurant apps in the Middle East showcased notable trends in downloads and active users. Here we break down the performance of the top 5 apps in this category, based on data from Sensor Tower.
McDonald’s - Non-US maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads oscillating between approximately 75K and 137K. The app experienced a significant spike, reaching 137K downloads in the week of September 18. Active users ranged from around 700K to 800K, with a slight increase towards the end of the quarter, peaking at 772K in mid-September.
KFC Saudi Arabia saw weekly downloads fluctuate between 52K and 74K. Notable increases were observed in early August and mid-September, with downloads hitting 74K and 69K respectively. Active users remained relatively stable, ranging from 250K to 283K, with a peak in mid-August.
Starbucks KSA experienced a significant surge in downloads, especially in the last week of September, reaching 135K. Earlier in the quarter, downloads ranged from 22K to 48K. The app's active users consistently grew from around 214K to a peak of 271K by the end of September.
ALBAIK recorded steady download numbers, starting at 30K and rising to 48K by the end of the quarter. Active users showed a gradual increase from 93K to 117K, reflecting steady growth in user engagement.
Hardee's KSA had a varied download trend, with significant peaks at 38K in late July and 43K in mid-September. Active users ranged from 61K to 88K, with a noticeable increase in mid-September.
