In the third quarter of 2023, the top 5 social networking applications in Ukraine exhibited diverse performance trends across downloads, revenue, and weekly active users. Below is a detailed overview of their metrics.
Telegram Messenger experienced significant growth in both downloads and revenue. Downloads peaked at approximately 131K in the final week of September, while weekly revenue saw a high of around $122K in the same period. The app maintained a strong presence with weekly active users, though there was a gradual decline from 12.8M to 12.5M throughout the quarter.
Rakuten Viber Messenger showed a steady performance in downloads, with a noticeable spike reaching about 79K at the end of August. Weekly revenue remained relatively stable, averaging around $7K, with a minor increase to $7.7K in mid-September. Active users saw an upward trend, growing from 9.4M to 9.7M by the end of September.
Skype maintained consistent weekly downloads, peaking at 7.3K in early September. Revenue showed a slight upward trend, reaching around $8.4K in mid-September. Active user numbers also increased, starting at 255K and ending the quarter at approximately 274K.
Discord - Talk, Play, Hang Out had stable download numbers, with a slight dip towards the end of September, averaging around 20K weekly. Revenue varied slightly, peaking at $6.1K in mid-September. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating around 2.9M throughout the quarter.
Mamba: Dating, Meet New People saw consistent weekly downloads, averaging around 3.6K. Revenue averaged around $4K weekly, with minor fluctuations. Active users showed a slight decline from 73.6K to 65.2K by the end of the quarter.
