The geolocation gaming scene on Android has seen varied trends in the last quarter of 2023. Sensor Tower provides a detailed look into how the top games in this category performed in the United States, focusing on downloads, revenue, and active users.
Niantic, Inc.'s Pokémon GO continued to show strong performance with revenues fluctuating around $1.5M to $2M weekly. Downloads peaked mid-October at approximately 45K, while weekly active users saw a high of 7.6M in late October but dipped to 6.5M by year's end.
The newer Monster Hunter Now, also from Niantic, saw initial revenues of $345K in late September, which declined to $132K by Christmas. Downloads had a notable spike to 96K in early December, with active users peaking at 281K twice in the quarter before falling to 134K.
Jam City, Inc.'s Jurassic World Alive experienced revenues hovering around the $80K to $100K mark weekly. The game's downloads reached a high of 7K in mid-October, and active users showed a slight increase from 38K to 37K by December 25th.
Atlas Earth - Buy Virtual Land from Atlas Reality, Inc. showed consistent revenues with a slight increase towards the end of the quarter, reaching $78K. Downloads had a high of 23K in late October, while active users peaked at 46K in mid-November before decreasing to 35K.
Lastly, Pikmin Bloom also by Niantic, showed varied revenue trends with a peak of $46K in early October. Downloads saw a high of 5.2K in the same month, and active users reached a quarter high of 84K in late October, ending the year at 67K.
