As the year 2023 came to a close, word puzzle enthusiasts in Latin America continued to engage with their favorite brain-teasers on Android. Data from Sensor Tower provides insight into how the top 5 word puzzle games performed during the fourth quarter.
Fugo Games' Words of Wonders: Crossword saw a fluctuating trend in downloads starting with 366K in late September, peaking at 482K in early December, and closing the quarter with 431K. Weekly active users (WAUs) showed an upward trend, starting at 2.17M and reaching a high of 2.56M in early December, before slightly dropping to 2.48M by the end of December.
Word Search - Word Puzzle Game by Blackout Lab, which does not report revenue, experienced a high of 471K downloads in late October, with a subsequent dip to 249K by year-end. WAUs peaked at 3.03M at the end of October and ended the quarter at 2.65M, indicating a strong but slightly diminishing user base.
Severex’s Crostic Crossword-Word Puzzles showed a decreasing pattern in downloads, from 227K in late September to 98K by the end of December. WAUs also decreased from 497K in early October to 457K by the end of the quarter.
Word Search - Word Puzzle Game from Playvalve, with modest revenue figures peaking at 46 USD in late October, saw its downloads increase from 44K to 165K in late October, followed by a decrease to 115K by the end of December. The WAUs showed a similar trend, peaking at 475K in late October and ending the quarter at 416K.
Lastly, Word Search Block Puzzle Game by Panda Word Puzzle, started the quarter with 120K downloads, rising to a high of 205K in late October, and then falling to 72K by the year's end. The game's WAUs followed a similar trajectory, peaking at 801K in late October and ending at 630K.
