The city building game genre has always been a popular niche, and the fourth quarter of 2023 has seen some interesting trends in the iOS market in France. Sensor Tower provides a comprehensive look at how these games have performed during this period.
SimCity BuildIt, published by Electronic Arts, saw its revenue peak at $16K in late October, with a subsequent dip and rise to $15K in mid-December. Downloads spiked at 3.5K in late October, and weekly active users reached their zenith at approximately 45K in the same period.
Merge Mayor from Starberry Games GmbH, despite having lower revenue figures, maintained a consistent revenue with a notable increase to $746 in early December. Downloads saw an upsurge to over 1K in late October, with weekly active users peaking at over 5K at the same time.
On the other hand, Isekai:Slow Life presented a more volatile revenue trend, with a high of $31K at the end of October, followed by a decrease towards the end of the year. The game's downloads experienced a sharp decline from 12.7K in late September to just hundreds in December, while active users also tapered off to 6.5K by the year's end.
The Simpsons™: Tapped Out, another title from Electronic Arts, showed an impressive revenue jump to $27K in mid-November. Downloads had a significant increase to 6.1K in late November, and weekly active users saw a high of 52.1K in the same month.
Lastly, Global City: Building Games by MY.GAMES B.V. demonstrated a modest revenue trend with a peak at $1.1K in late November. The game's downloads reached a high of 2.4K in late October, while active users hit a peak at over 3K in mid-October.
