As the fourth quarter of 2023 comes to an end, we've seen significant activity in the fast food and fast casual restaurant app space on the iOS platform in the United Kingdom. The data provided by Sensor Tower offers a clear picture of how these apps have performed over this period.
Starting with McDonald’s U.K., the app saw a downward trend in downloads, starting from 120K in late September to just over 30K by Christmas. Weekly active users peaked at nearly 767K in early October but showed a declining pattern to reach around 501K by the end of December.
Next, Greggs experienced a similar trajectory in downloads, with an initial 78K in late September, decreasing to around 17K by Christmas week. The app's weekly active users also decreased from 223K to 163K over the quarter.
Domino's Pizza Delivery app downloads fluctuated, with an initial 55K in late September, dipping to around 27K towards the end of the quarter. The active users started at approximately 297K but showed resilience, with a slight increase to around 237K by the year's end.
The KFC App UKI - Order & Delivery showed some volatility in downloads, beginning the quarter with around 24K downloads and experiencing a peak at 35K in mid-October, then ending at about 26K. Weekly active users saw a rise from 172K to a peak of 208K in mid-October, then a slight decline to 196K.
Lastly, the Costa Coffee Club app downloads started at 29K in late September, peaking at 31K in mid-October, and then experienced a decrease to around 16K by Christmas. The weekly active users showed more stability, with a slight increase from 256K to 261K in mid-November before ending the quarter at around 241K.
