As the appetite for food delivery services continues to grow, we've taken a closer look at the performance of the top food delivery applications in Brazil on the iOS platform during the fourth quarter of 2023. This analysis, based on data from Sensor Tower, provides a snapshot of trends in downloads and active users for each service.
Starting with iFood, the app experienced fluctuating download numbers, peaking at 123K in early October and then gradually descending to 85K by the end of December. The weekly active users for iFood showed a more stable trend, with a slight increase from 2.48M to 2.58M in mid-November, before a decrease to 2.3M by the year's end.
Rappi's downloads remained relatively stable, hovering around the 12K mark for most of the quarter, with a slight dip to 9.8K in mid-December. Active users peaked at 218K in early October and saw a gradual decline to 185K by the close of the quarter.
Uber Eats witnessed a decrease in downloads over the quarter, starting at 6.2K and sharply falling to just 114 by mid-December. Its weekly active users saw an uptick from 19K to 26K in mid-November, followed by a drop to 15K by the end of December.
Vivino showed a positive trajectory in the quarter, with downloads increasing from 4.2K to 5.7K. The weekly active users also saw a significant rise, starting at 22K and increasing to around 31K in mid-December before a slight dip to 30K in the final week.
Cornershop by Uber experienced a varied quarter in terms of downloads, with a notable spike to 6.1K in mid-October, but a decrease to 400 by the end of December. The app's active users reached a high of 14.9K in the same period but fell to 7.8K by the quarter's end.
