In Q4 2023, the top navigation and maps apps on iOS in Germany exhibited diverse trends in downloads, revenue, and weekly active users. Here's a closer look at the performance of the top five apps based on Sensor Tower data.
Google Maps had a notable quarter, with downloads fluctuating between 60K and 98K per week. The highest downloads were recorded in the week of September 25, reaching approximately 98K. Weekly active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 10M, peaking at 10.5M in early October. The app did not generate any revenue during this period.
Blitzer.de saw consistent download numbers, ranging from about 7K to 14K weekly. The highest download count occurred in late September, with around 14.6K downloads. Revenue was minimal, peaking at $10 in the week of October 9. Weekly active users showed a slight decline from 122K at the beginning of the quarter to approximately 120K by the end of December.
Google Earth experienced a steady download rate, varying between 9K and 16K weekly. The highest downloads were reported in the last week of December, reaching approximately 16.1K. Active users started at around 104K in late September but saw a dip to roughly 92K by the end of December.
Waze Navigation & Live Traffic had download numbers fluctuating between 6K and 12K per week. The highest download count was in the last week of December, with about 12.7K downloads. Weekly active users remained stable, with slight increases and decreases, averaging around 430K throughout the quarter.
TomTom GO Navigation showed varied performance in revenue and downloads. Weekly revenue ranged from approximately $24K to $34K, peaking at $34.5K in late September. Downloads were more erratic, ranging from 1.5K to 3.2K weekly, with the highest downloads in the last week of December. Weekly active users saw minor fluctuations, starting at around 17.6K in late September and ending at approximately 16.8K by December's end.
