As the year 2023 drew to a close, the pirate game genre on iOS remained a competitive field in Europe. Sensor Tower's data sheds light on how the top contenders fared in the fourth quarter of the year.
Sea of Conquest: Pirate War, despite its recent release by FunPlus International AG, made impressive strides with downloads escalating from 2K in the week of December 11 to a peak of 62K in the final week of December. Weekly active users mirrored this growth, soaring from 2K to 42K in the same period.
TAPCLAP's Pirate Treasures - Gems Puzzle, a longstanding favorite, maintained a steady performance. The game's downloads hovered around 4K to 5K per week, while weekly active users stayed above 50K throughout the quarter, ending slightly lower at 50K.
The action-packed Pirate Raid: Caribbean Battle by SayGames LTD saw a significant spike in downloads, jumping from a few hundred to nearly 20K in the last week of December. This growth was also reflected in the weekly active users, which escalated to 18K from a modest 2K at the beginning of the quarter.
SPARKLER GAMES HONG KONG LIMITED's Lord of Seas experienced a gradual increase in revenue, with earnings climbing to 8K USD in the week of December 25. Downloads saw a year-end surge, rising to 2K in the same week.
Lastly, Save The Pirate! Help! Escape!, created by Volodymyr Bondarenko, had no revenue to report, but downloads showed consistency, ranging from 432 to 1K weekly. The game maintained a robust active user base, starting at around 19K and slightly dipping to 14K by the quarter's end.
