In the final quarter of 2023, Brazil saw a diverse performance among its top carpooling and ridesharing apps. Here's a snapshot of how these apps fared, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Uber - Request a ride maintained a strong presence with downloads peaking at 400K in mid-December before dipping to 323K towards the end of the month. The weekly active users for Uber followed a similar trend, starting strong at nearly 15M and reaching a high of over 16M in early December, before experiencing a decline to approximately 13M active users by Christmas week.
inDrive. Save on city rides, on the other hand, had a steady quarter with downloads hovering around 130K-160K. Weekly active users peaked in early December at over 4M, signifying a robust user base throughout the quarter.
The Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver app showed consistency in downloads, with numbers generally ranging between 120K and 148K. The app's weekly active users saw a gradual increase, starting at around 1.4M and reaching over 1.6M by the end of December.
BlaBlaCar: Carpooling and Bus experienced a significant increase in downloads during the quarter, jumping from 68K to 160K in the last week of December. The weekly active users also reflected growth, starting at approximately 1.5M and reaching nearly 2M by the quarter's end.
Lastly, Bolt: Request a Ride recorded the lowest figures among the top apps. Downloads ranged from 4K to 8K, while active users stayed within the 21K-25K range throughout the quarter.
