In the final quarter of 2023, the UK's carpooling and ridesharing app scene saw varied user engagement across the board. Data sourced from Sensor Tower offers a closer look at the performance of these apps on the unified platform.
Uber - Request a ride experienced downloads fluctuating from 102K in the last week of September to a peak of 114K in early December, before closing the quarter at around 96K. Weekly active users showed a rising trend, starting at 1.93M and reaching up to 2.24M in mid-December.
Bolt: Request a Ride had its downloads see-sawing, with an initial 48K downloads at the beginning of the quarter, dipping to approximately 38K, and then climbing back to roughly 48K by the year's end. Weekly active users decreased initially from 474K to 413K in late October, but a late-quarter surge brought numbers up to 491K, ending slightly lower at 407K.
Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver also saw downloads that varied, starting at 21K, dipping to 18K, and rising again to 23K by the end of December. The number of weekly active users began at 240K, peaked at 264K in early December, and settled at around 246K by the quarter's end.
Careem – rides, food & more maintained a relatively stable download pattern, with numbers hovering between 5K and 7K throughout the quarter. Active users experienced a modest increase from 14K to 17K by the end of December.
inDrive. Save on city rides showed a steady increase in downloads, from around 4K in late September to over 7K in mid-December, before a slight drop to 5.8K. Weekly active users consistently grew from 30K to 38K over the quarter, with a minor dip to 35K in the last week.
