In the final quarter of 2023, Australia's delivered meal kit and specialty food applications demonstrated diverse user engagement, according to data from Sensor Tower. Here we look at the performance of five prominent apps in this category.
HelloFresh: Meal Kit Delivery experienced a peak in downloads mid-quarter with 5K, followed by a decline to 2K towards the end. Weekly active users started strong at 133K but saw a decrease, finishing at around 119K.
Youfoodz: Custom Meal Plan showed a similar trend in downloads, starting at 4K and dipping to 1.7K by year's end. Unfortunately, data for weekly active users is not available for this app.
For My Muscle Chef, downloads saw an initial rise to 1.6K in early October, followed by a gradual decrease to under 1K. The app did not report weekly active users.
EveryPlate: Cooking Simplified saw downloads peak at 1.7K in the latter part of October, then decreased to 783 by the close of the quarter. Active users remained relatively stable, starting at 18K and slightly decreasing to 16.5K.
Vivino: Buy the Right Wine was the only app among the top five to generate revenue, with a notable increase from $1K to $1.7K towards the end of the quarter. Downloads peaked at 1.7K in the final weeks, while active users grew from 5.6K to 6.2K, suggesting a strong close to the year.
