In the fourth quarter of 2023, the top five food delivery services apps in Ireland displayed varied performance trends in terms of downloads and weekly active users. Here's a breakdown of how each app fared:
Just Eat - Food Delivery saw its downloads fluctuate throughout the quarter. Starting with around 6.8K downloads in late September, the app experienced peaks and troughs, hitting a high of approximately 9.3K at the end of October and concluding the quarter with 8.1K downloads in the final week of December. Weekly active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 43K to 44K, with a slight dip to 41.8K in mid-December before recovering to 43.2K by the end of the quarter.
Too Good To Go: End Food Waste exhibited a mixed download trend. The app started strong with 5.7K downloads in late September, experienced ups and downs, and then saw a significant drop to 2.1K in mid-December before ending the quarter with 2.7K downloads. Weekly active users for this app were more stable, starting at 67.2K and maintaining a range between 62K and 72K throughout the quarter, with a notable peak of 72.1K in mid-November.
Deliveroo: Food & Shopping experienced lower download numbers compared to others, beginning the quarter with approximately 3.3K downloads. The app saw a high of around 4.1K in the last week of December. Its weekly active users started at 44.5K and showed a positive trend, peaking at 49.7K in late November before closing the quarter at 39.5K.
Uber Eats: Food Delivery had a consistent download pattern, starting with 3K downloads in late September and ending with 2.7K in the last week of December. Weekly active users began at 71.9K and saw a slight decrease, fluctuating between 65K and 71K, ending the quarter with 68.1K active users.
HelloFresh: Meal Kit Delivery had the lowest download figures among the top five, starting with 1.7K downloads and experiencing a steady decline to 511 in mid-December, before recovering to 844 downloads in the final week. The app's weekly active users showed a slight increase from 17.3K in late September to a peak of 19K in late December.
