In Q4 2023, the top 5 food delivery apps in the United States showed varied performance in terms of downloads and weekly active users, according to data from Sensor Tower.
DoorDash - Food Delivery saw a notable increase in downloads, starting at approximately 379K in late September and peaking at around 702K in the final week of December. The weekly active users for the app fluctuated slightly, beginning at 19.6M and ending the quarter at 18.2M.
Uber Eats: Food Delivery experienced a relatively stable download trend, with figures hovering around 232K at the start of the quarter and reaching about 248K by the end. The weekly active users displayed a downward trend, starting at 13.7M and ending at approximately 12.6M.
Instacart-Get Grocery Delivery showed a consistent increase in both downloads and weekly active users. Downloads began at 180K and rose to 181K by the end of December. Weekly active users also increased, starting at 1.9M and peaking at 2.1M in early December before ending the quarter at 1.9M.
DoorDash - Dasher had a steady download rate, beginning at 153K and peaking at 171K in the final week of December. Weekly active users saw a significant rise, starting at 2.1M and reaching 2.5M by mid-December, before slightly dropping to 2.4M at the end of the quarter.
Grubhub: Food Delivery experienced a decline in downloads, starting at 142K in late September and decreasing to around 99K by the end of December. Weekly active users also showed a downward trend, starting at 2.3M and ending at approximately 1.7M.
