In the final quarter of 2023, the pirate-themed gaming category saw a mix of fortunes for its top titles on the unified platform in Australia. Sensor Tower provides comprehensive data on the performance of these swashbuckling adventures, highlighting the ebb and flow of user engagement and financial success.
Pirate Kings™, by Playtika LTD, maintained a steady revenue stream, peaking at around $7K USD in the last week of December. Downloads fluctuated modestly, ranging from 17K to 36K, while weekly active users showed a slight downward trend from 215K in early October to 166K by year-end.
JOYCITY Corp's Pirates of the Caribbean: ToW also experienced variable revenue, with notable peaks at the beginning and end of the quarter, both times reaching over $5K USD. The game's downloads saw a high in late November with 130K, and active users peaked at 217K in the same month.
The newcomer, Sea of Conquest: Pirate War, released by FunPlus International AG, made a splash with a significant increase in revenue, from around $8K USD in early December to $18K USD by Christmas. Downloads and active users echoed this success, with downloads jumping from 887K to 4.7M, and active users rising from 482K to 3.7M.
Voyage: The Grand Fleet, despite a strong start in September, saw a decline in revenue to just $335 USD by the end of October. Downloads and active users followed a similar downward trajectory, with active users decreasing from 3.3M to 2.4M during the quarter.
Lastly, Age of Sail: Navy & Pirates by Special Gamez Technology Co., Ltd., generated modest revenue with a peak of $596 USD in early November. The game had minimal downloads, but active user data wasn't reported.
