In the first quarter of 2024, the UK's automotive app landscape on Android has seen varying levels of user engagement and download trends, as reported by Sensor Tower. Here's a brief encapsulation of how the top five auto applications performed during this period.
AutoTrader: Cars to Buy & Sell maintained a steady presence with downloads fluctuating around the 10K to 13K mark and weekly active users (WAUs) consistently above 100K, peaking at 121K in the first week of January.
CarGurus: Used & New Cars experienced a decrease in downloads, starting the quarter with approximately 7.6K downloads and ending with around 4.6K. The app's WAUs also saw a downward trend, from 16K in the first week to 12K by the end of March.
BPme - Pay for Fuel and more had an interesting quarter, with downloads initially spiking to 7.2K in late January before gradually declining to 3.7K by the quarter's end. WAUs showed a slight decrease from 24.9K in mid-January to around 20.5K in the last week of March.
Shell saw its downloads peak at nearly 5K in mid-February, with a gentle reduction to 3.7K by the close of the quarter. The app's active users remained fairly stable, with a slight dip from 50K in mid-January to 43K by the quarter's end.
Lastly, Motorway - Sell your car had a dynamic quarter with downloads more than doubling from 1.3K in the first week of January to 4.7K in mid-February, before a sharp decline to 2.1K by March 25th. The app's WAUs data was not provided.
