In Q1 2024, the top 5 communication apps on Android in Turkey exhibited diverse trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. According to data from Sensor Tower, here’s a detailed look at the performance of these apps:
WhatsApp Messenger saw fluctuating downloads throughout the quarter, starting strong with 196K downloads in the first week of January and peaking at 266K in the week of February 12. Active users for the app showed a consistent upward trend, beginning at 40.7M and reaching 42.6M by the end of March.
Snapchat experienced varying download numbers, starting at 130K in early January and dipping to 96K in mid-March, before slightly recovering to 112K in the final week. Revenue for Snapchat fluctuated, peaking at around $4.5K in late February. The app's active users showed some volatility but ended the quarter on a high note at approximately 11.9M.
Telegram maintained a steady download rate, with numbers ranging from 107K to 127K throughout the quarter. Revenue for Telegram showed a significant increase from $9.3K in early January to $17.4K by the end of March. Active users hovered around the 7M mark, demonstrating stable engagement.
Getcontact had a notable revenue performance, starting at $27.3K and peaking at $32.5K in early March. Downloads for Getcontact saw a decline from 133K in early January to 96K by the end of the quarter. Active users fluctuated but ended March with approximately 880K users.
Messenger from Meta Platforms had a mixed performance in terms of downloads, starting at 62K in the first week of January and rising to 83K by mid-March. Revenue for Messenger was relatively low, peaking at $338 in late February. Active users showed a slight decline, starting at 15.2M and ending at 14.8M by the end of March.
