The Food and Diet app category continues to be a significant player in the mobile app market, especially on the Android platform within the United States. As we look back at the first quarter of 2024, Sensor Tower provides us with key insights into how the top apps performed.

Starting with Yuka - Food & Cosmetic Scanner, we saw a consistent uptrend in downloads, starting at 29K in the first week of January and peaking at nearly 39K by March. Weekly active users also showed a healthy growth trend, beginning at 78K and rising to 94K by the end of the quarter. Revenue displayed fluctuations but ended the quarter on a high note with $9K.

Next up, MyFitnessPal: Calorie Counter demonstrated its staying power with impressive revenue figures, although it saw a dip from $399K to $276K, before rebounding to $333K. Downloads for the app showed a slight decline from 40K to 25K, while weekly active users started strong at 526K but saw a dip to 479K.

Water Tracker and Drink Alarm, despite not generating revenue, witnessed a remarkable surge in downloads from a mere 378 in early February to an astounding 62K in mid-March. Weekly active users followed a similar trajectory, increasing from 19K to over 70K.

My Water Reminder & Alarm also showed no revenue, but downloads remained relatively steady, ranging from 19K to 25K. Weekly active users saw a slight uptick from 211K to 224K throughout the quarter.

Lastly, Calorie Counter - MyNetDiary showed revenue that was relatively stable, hovering around the $30K mark. Downloads saw a dip from 22K at the start of January to 12K at the quarter's end, whereas weekly active users witnessed a spike in the latter half of March, jumping to nearly 197K.
