In the first quarter of 2024, the Food and Drink category on the Android platform in Germany saw significant activity. Below, we provide a detailed overview of the top 5 apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.
REWE - Online Supermarkt REWE - Online Supermarkt had a dynamic quarter with weekly downloads peaking at approximately 75K in late January. After this peak, downloads saw a slight decline, stabilizing around 45K by the end of March. The weekly active users (WAU) metric showed a steady increase early in the quarter, reaching about 520K in late January, before settling around 475K towards the end of March.
Too Good To Go: End Food Waste Too Good To Go: End Food Waste maintained a consistent download rate throughout the quarter, with a high of 41K in mid-February. WAU for the app started at around 947K at the beginning of January, saw a peak of approximately 1.15M in early February, and ended the quarter at around 1.03M.
EDEKA EDEKA experienced a gradual increase in downloads, starting at 26K in early January and reaching a peak of nearly 39K by mid-March. The WAU for EDEKA also showed a positive trend, growing from 281K at the start of January to about 336K by the end of March.
PENNY Angebote & Coupons PENNY Angebote & Coupons saw a remarkable rise in downloads, starting at 18.5K in early January and peaking at about 48K in mid-February. The app's WAU mirrored this trend, increasing from 88K at the beginning of January to around 156K in mid-February before stabilizing at approximately 125K by the end of March.
Lieferando.de Lieferando.de had a relatively stable download rate, with weekly downloads fluctuating between 18K and 22K throughout the quarter. The WAU started at 580K in early January, dipped to around 458K in mid-February, and ended the quarter at approximately 488K.
