In the first quarter of 2024, Brazil's Android users showed their preferences in music and podcasts applications, with varying trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. Sensor Tower's data provides a clear view of how these apps are performing in the market.
Spotify: Music and Podcasts maintained a strong presence, with downloads peaking at 260K in mid-February and a slight decline towards the end of March to 240K. Revenue trends showed a high in mid-January at $61K, dipping to $48K in mid-March before slightly recovering. Weekly active users grew steadily, starting at 27.8M and reaching 28.4M by the end of the quarter.
eSound: MP3 Music Player App experienced fluctuating downloads, with a significant spike to 120K in early February, then gradually decreasing to 61K by the end of March. Revenue saw a dip in late January at $714, followed by a rebound to $1.1K in mid-March. Weekly active users peaked at 980K in mid-February and ended the quarter with a slight dip at 959K.
YouTube Music showed consistent downloads ranging from 54K to 70K, without significant fluctuations. As revenue data was not applicable, the focus shifts to weekly active users which started strong at 27.4M, dipped in late January to 27.2M, and saw a notable rise to 28.2M by the end of March.
TikTok Music had varied download numbers, with a high of 84K in mid-February followed by a sharp decline to 20K towards the end of March. Revenue trends displayed a peak of $38K in early January, with a general downward trend concluding at $25K in late March. Active users showed an increase from 498K to 532K during the quarter.
Palco MP3: Listen and download observed relatively stable downloads, beginning at 42K, peaking at 47K in mid-February, and ending the quarter with a high of 49K. With no revenue to report, the weekly active users started at 269K, saw a low of 244K in mid-March, and rebounded to 261K by the quarter's close.
