In the first quarter of 2024, the Android platform saw varied performance among the top personal finance applications in Latin America. This analysis, powered by data from Sensor Tower, gives us a snapshot of the market trends for these crucial budgeting tools.
Splitwise, a popular application for splitting expenses, experienced a decrease in weekly revenue from $3.36K in the first week of January to $1.87K by the end of March. Downloads showed a similar downtrend, starting at 22K and dropping to 13K. However, weekly active users fluctuated, peaking at nearly 50K in late January and settling around 46K towards the quarter's end.
Wallet: Budget Expense Tracker also saw a decrease in revenue, with a starting point of $3.27K in January and concluding at $1.7K in March. Downloads for the app peaked at 11K in the first week of January, followed by a general decline to under 5K by late March. The weekly active users mirrored this pattern, starting strong at 42K and ending the quarter at around 37K.
YNAB (You Need A Budget) showed a mixed revenue trend, beginning at $1.75K and peaking at $2.72K in late February, but then dipped to $1.56K by the end of March. Downloads remained low, with the highest at 493 in early January and the lowest at 120 in early February. The weekly active users count stayed relatively stable, hovering around 450 to 500 throughout the quarter.
The 1Money: expense tracker budget app's revenue was quite consistent, starting at $1.32K and ending slightly lower at $1.05K. Downloads saw a sharp decline from 2.26K in the first week to just 391 in the last week of March. Weekly active users showed a gradual decrease from 6.3K to just under 5K over the same period.
Lastly, Fast Budget - Expense Manager experienced a revenue trend that started at $1.36K and ended at $1.11K. Downloads for the app saw a peak of 9.5K in the first week of January, with a subsequent fall to around 2.8K by the end of March. The weekly active users reflected a similar pattern, with an initial count of 16K that decreased to 11K by the quarter's end.
