In the first quarter of 2024, the top 5 photography apps on the Android platform in Kenya showed dynamic performance trends in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users. Here's a closer look at how each app fared:
Photo Lab Picture Editor & Art from Linerock Investments LTD experienced consistent weekly revenues, peaking at $43 in late February. Weekly downloads saw notable fluctuations, with a high of approximately 18.6K in late January, before stabilizing around 10K towards the end of the quarter. Active users showed a similar pattern, rising to around 67.8K in late January and then averaging around 50K by late March.
Photoroom AI Photo Editor had a strong start with weekly revenues increasing to $244 by mid-March. Downloads fluctuated, peaking at around 17.5K in early March, and then settling around 10K by late March. Active users mirrored this trend, surging to approximately 37.5K in early March before leveling off to around 27.6K by the end of the quarter.
Google Photos, despite not generating revenue, maintained a steady download rate, with a peak of about 11.7K in mid-March. Active users remained robust, consistently above 5.3M throughout the quarter, showcasing its widespread usage in Kenya.
Photo Collage Maker,Pic Editor from Leopard V7 maintained stable weekly downloads, with numbers hovering around 6.5K. Active users saw a gradual increase, rising from approximately 23.5K in early January to about 35.8K by the end of March.
Video Editor & Maker - InShot saw moderate revenue growth, peaking at $61 in mid-February. Weekly downloads were relatively stable, with a high of around 7.7K in mid-February. Active users exhibited minor fluctuations, averaging around 100K throughout the quarter.
