In Q1 2024, the shopping app landscape on Android in El Salvador showcased a variety of trends in downloads, active users, and revenue. Let's dive into the performance of the top five shopping apps: SHEIN-Shopping Online, Alibaba.com - B2B marketplace, AliExpress, Temu: Shop Like a Billionaire, and Amazon Shopping.
SHEIN-Shopping Online had a varying download pattern throughout the quarter. Weekly downloads started at around 13.5K in early January, saw a dip to about 7.6K by mid-March, and ended the quarter at approximately 9.8K. Active users showed a relatively stable trend, starting at 247.8K and slightly fluctuating to end the quarter at 242K.
Alibaba.com - B2B marketplace experienced a downward trend in downloads from about 12.8K in the first week of January to around 6.4K by the end of March. Active users also saw a slight decline, beginning the quarter at 170K and closing at roughly 154.9K.
AliExpress showed a modest performance in downloads, starting at 3.3K and fluctuating to end at about 3.2K. The app maintained a consistent number of active users, with figures hovering around 50.9K at the beginning of the quarter, slightly decreasing to 47.8K by the end of March.
Temu: Shop Like a Billionaire had a relatively stable download trend, starting at 3.5K in the first week of January and ending at 3.7K in the last week of March. Active users also remained steady, starting at 17.9K and ending at 18.1K.
Amazon Shopping saw a gradual decline in downloads, from approximately 2.9K in early January to around 2.3K in late March. Active users started at 91.2K and saw minor fluctuations, ending at 88.4K. The app also generated consistent weekly revenue, averaging around $14 throughout the quarter.
