In the first quarter of 2024, Australia's Android users have shown fluctuating interest in the top five theme parks applications. Data provided by Sensor Tower gives us a glimpse into the download numbers and weekly active users for these entertainment apps.
Village Roadshow Theme Parks experienced a rollercoaster in downloads, starting strong at 3.1K in the first week of January and dipping to 1.2K towards the end of February, before making a modest climb back to 1.8K in the last week of March. Weekly active users followed a similar downward trend from 12.2K to 9K, with a rebound to 10.6K.
Universal Studios Japan saw a gradual decrease in downloads, from 985 in the new year's week to 569 in late February, but there was a slight uptick to 742 by the end of March. The app's active users started at 2.8K, dipped to around 2.3K mid-quarter, and slightly improved to 2.6K by quarter's end.
The Tokyo Disney Resort App downloads began at 862, peaked at 930 in the second week of January, and then generally declined to 621 in late February, with a final jump to 854 in the last week of March. Its weekly active users mirrored this pattern, starting at 3.2K and ending the quarter at 3.3K after some fluctuation.
Disneyland® had the lowest download figures among the top five, with a starting point of 342 and a decrease to 201 in mid-February, before slightly climbing to 276 by the end of March. The app's active users showed minor volatility, from 734 to 644 over the quarter.
Lastly, Hong Kong Disneyland saw downloads fall from 329 to a low of 86 in early February, with a minor recovery to 132 by March's close. Active users for the app decreased from 435 to 259, with a small rise to 306 by the end of Q1.
These figures reflect the dynamic nature of app engagement within the theme park category.
