During the first quarter of 2024, the top 5 travel and local apps on Android in the United Kingdom showed varied performance trends. Here’s a closer look at the weekly downloads and active users for each app, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Booking.com: Hotels & Travel experienced a notable fluctuation in weekly downloads, starting with approximately 24.5K in the first week of January and gradually decreasing to around 18.9K by the end of March. The app maintained a strong user base, with weekly active users increasing from 1.21M at the start of January to nearly 1.30M by the end of the quarter.
TUI | Book Holidays and Travel saw a decline in weekly downloads from 24.9K in early January to 14.8K in the last week of March. Despite this, the app's weekly active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 262K and 285K throughout the quarter.
Airbnb showed a consistent trend in weekly downloads, averaging around 17K in January and tapering off to about 15K by the end of March. The app's weekly active users remained steady, starting at 452K and ending the quarter at approximately 439K.
RingGo: Mobile Car Parking App had a significant increase in weekly downloads, starting from 13.6K in the first week of January and reaching a peak of 21.1K by the end of March. The app's weekly active users also showed an upward trend, increasing from 77.7K to 87.7K over the same period.
Jet2 - Holidays & Flights experienced steady weekly downloads, beginning with 17.7K in the first week of January and peaking at 20.5K in the last week of March. The app's weekly active users saw a slight increase from 66.7K to 67.8K during the quarter.
