State of AI Apps Report 2025 is Live!
The first quarter of 2024 has shown interesting trends for the top 5 Travel and Local apps on the Android platform in the United States. Based on data from Sensor Tower, here is a detailed look at the performance of these apps:
Airbnb saw a mix of growth and decline in its weekly downloads, starting at approximately 76K in the first week of January and ending at around 64K by the end of March. Active users fluctuated between 1.1M and 1.0M, peaking at 1.1M in late February.
Expedia: Hotels, Flights & Car displayed a steady increase in weekly downloads, starting at 61K in early January and reaching around 65K by the end of March. Active users were fairly stable, averaging around 800K throughout the quarter.
Vrbo Vacation Rentals experienced a varied download pattern, with numbers ranging from 49K to 69K. Active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 1.2M, with slight dips and peaks throughout the quarter.
Google Earth had consistent weekly downloads, maintaining a range between 44K and 50K. Active users showed a slight increase, starting at 398K and ending at around 406K by the end of March.
American Airlines showed a gradual increase in weekly downloads, from 43K in early January to 52K by early March, before a slight decline to 42K at the end of the quarter. Active users saw a similar trend, peaking at 269K in early March and ending at around 248K.
