In the first quarter of 2024, the French iOS market for fitness and weight loss applications demonstrated varied performance across leading platforms. Here's a snapshot of the top apps' activity, based on Sensor Tower's data:
Yuka - Food & Cosmetic Scanner maintained consistent downloads ranging from 23K to 29K weekly, with a peak in late February. Weekly active users saw a steady increase from 251K to nearly 299K in early March, indicating growing engagement. Revenue for Yuka showed an upward trend, starting at $5.9K and reaching a high of $8.2K by the end of January.
For Strava: Run, Bike, Hike, revenue began at $66K and experienced fluctuations, ultimately soaring to $88K in the latter part of March. Downloads showed a dip mid-quarter but recovered to 25K. Weekly active users fluctuated, with a noticeable rise from 494K to over 529K in mid-March before dipping to 487K.
Basic-Fit, despite not generating revenue, saw downloads begin at 24K and decrease over the quarter, ending at 12K. Active user counts were high, starting from 330K and reaching 400K in late January, before a slight decline to 358K by the quarter's end.
YAZIO Calorie Counter & Diet showed a decrease in downloads from 34K to 10.8K, while active users had a high of 198K in mid-January before settling around 179K. Revenue for YAZIO followed a downward trend, starting at $55.6K and dropping to around $28.6K.
BMI Calculator – Weight Loss experienced the most dramatic fluctuations in downloads, spiking to 64.5K in early March from an initial 41.2K, with lows of around 2.5K in February. Weekly active users reflected this volatility, peaking at 56.8K in March from an initial 29.7K.
