The first quarter of 2024 has been an interesting period for Match 3 games on the iOS platform in France. Sensor Tower's data provides us with a glimpse into the performance of the top contenders in this genre.
Monkey Land by Han Song Ey Jo started off with a strong 147K downloads in the first week of January but saw a gradual decline to 12K by the end of March. The weekly active users also followed a downward trend from 1.25M to just over 1M. Revenue, initially at $276K, dropped to zero by the last week of March.
Dream Games' Royal Match showed more consistent revenue, starting at $229K and ending the quarter at $177K. Downloads fluctuated between 32K and 18K, while active users had a slight decrease from 422K to 418K.
Magmatic Games Ltd's Travel Town - Merge Adventure had an upward revenue trend, starting at $47K and peaking at $63K in the last week of March. Downloads saw a spike in early March with 39K, and active users increased from 50K to nearly 100K over the quarter.
King's ever-popular Candy Crush Saga maintained strong revenue throughout the quarter, with a peak at $305K and ending slightly lower at $226K. Downloads remained steady around the 15K mark, while active users saw a slight decline from 185K to 175K.
Lastly, Peak Games' Match Factory! entered the scene with modest revenue that grew from $12K to $18K. Downloads peaked in early February at 18K but later declined to around 11K. Active users showed an impressive growth, starting at 29K and reaching 45K by the end of March.
