European iOS Users Tune In: A Look at the Top Music Apps in Q1 2024
The first quarter of 2024 has seen some interesting trends among the top Music and Podcasts applications on the iOS platform in Europe. Sensor Tower provides a detailed look into how apps like Spotify - Music and Podcasts, Shazam: Find Music & Concerts, YouTube Music, SoundCloud: Discover New Music, and Amazon Music: Songs & Podcasts have been performing.
Spotify - Music and Podcasts has maintained a strong presence with weekly revenue peaking at $1.09M and tapering to $1.04M by the end of March. Downloads showed a slight decline from 405K in the first week to 317K by the quarter's end. Weekly active users saw a steady increase from 43.5M to 44.5M.
Apple's Shazam: Find Music & Concerts also experienced a stable quarter, with revenue fluctuating around the $200K mark and ending the quarter at $225K. Downloads saw a decrease from 224K to 182K, while weekly active users dropped from 20.6M to 19.9M.
YouTube Music showed an impressive revenue spike reaching $965K in late February, but downloads remained fairly consistent, hovering around the 140K-150K range throughout the quarter. Weekly active users demonstrated growth, rising from 14.6M to 15.8M.
SoundCloud: Discover New Music saw its highest revenue at $431K in the last week of February, with downloads peaking at 100K during the same period. The app's weekly active users were relatively stable, with a slight increase from 15.6M to 16.7M.
Amazon Music: Songs & Podcasts displayed a revenue rise, peaking at $610K towards the end of February, while downloads began at 94K and dipped to 60K. Active users showed minor fluctuations, generally maintaining around 1.4M throughout the quarter.
