In the first quarter of 2024, the top 5 photo and video applications on iOS in Australia demonstrated varied performance in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at how each app performed:
CapCut - Video Editor from Bytedance Pte. Ltd experienced a steady performance throughout Q1. Weekly revenue started at around $38.4K in early January, fluctuating slightly but peaking at approximately $40.9K in the last week of March. Downloads saw a downward trend from 49.4K in the first week to 37.3K by the end of the quarter. Active users also showed some variability, starting at 198K and ending at around 188K.
Instagram from Instagram, Inc. had a notable revenue performance, starting with $52.5K in the first week of January and experiencing a peak of about $59.3K in the last week of February. Downloads, however, saw a decline from 27.6K in the first week to around 20.9K by the end of March. The active user base remained relatively stable, starting at 5M and ending at approximately 5.1M.
YouTube: Watch, Listen, Stream by Google showed impressive revenue figures, starting at $541.7K in the first week of January and reaching a peak of $751K in mid-February. Downloads fluctuated slightly but generally trended downward from 23.2K to 17K. Active users remained high, starting at 12.2M and ending at around 12.2M, demonstrating consistent user engagement.
Snapchat from Snap, Inc. maintained a solid revenue stream, beginning at $134.9K in early January and showing slight fluctuations, ending at about $135.5K in the last week of March. Downloads saw a general decline from 16.9K to 15.3K over the quarter. Active users showed minor variability, starting at 3.1M and ending the quarter at approximately 3.1M.
Canva: Design, Art & AI Editor by Canva, an Australian publisher, had a strong revenue performance with a peak of about $101.5K in the last week of February. Downloads remained relatively stable, starting at 13.1K and ending at around 12.2K. Active users saw growth from 190K in the first week to a peak of 215K in early March, before settling at around 194K by the end of the quarter.
