During the first quarter of 2024, the carpooling and ridesharing app market in Nicaragua showed varied performance across the top five applications. Let's dive into the weekly download trends for these apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.
inDrive. Save on city rides from SUOL INNOVATIONS LTD had its weekly downloads start at 7.9K in early January and experienced a decline to around 3.3K by the end of the month. February saw a rebound, peaking at 6.7K downloads in the week of February 19, before stabilizing around 4.9K by the end of March.
Picap, developed by Picap Co, had a more fluctuating pattern. Starting at 3.5K downloads in the first week of January, it experienced peaks and troughs, with notable increases to 4.4K in mid-January and February. The app ended Q1 with steady downloads around 4K.
Uber - Request a ride by Uber Technologies, Inc. showed a relatively stable download rate, starting at 764 in the first week of January and maintaining around 700 downloads throughout most of the quarter. A slight increase to 857 downloads was seen in early March, followed by a dip to 638 by the end of the quarter.
The performance of DiDi Rider: Affordable rides from DiDi was more modest. Beginning the quarter with 337 downloads, it saw minor fluctuations and ended with approximately 239 downloads per week.
Lastly, Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver, also from Uber Technologies, Inc., started with 223 downloads in the first week of January. The app experienced a decrease to 157 downloads in late January, followed by a peak of 277 downloads in early March, before closing the quarter at 147 downloads.
