In the first quarter of 2024, the city-building game genre saw varied performance across leading titles in the United States. Insights from Sensor Tower reveal the trends for downloads, revenue, and weekly active users for these popular games.
Isekai:Slow Life by Mars Era Limited experienced a slight decline in downloads from 39K in the first week of January to around 30K by the end of March. However, its weekly active users grew from around 178K to 220K in the same period, and revenue showed a peak of $828K in the last week of March.
SimCity BuildIt, published by Electronic Arts, maintained a steady download rate, peaking at 44K in early March. Weekly active users fluctuated, ending the quarter at approximately 140K, down from 154K at the start of the year. Revenue for the game saw ups and downs, with a notable peak of $486K in the first week of March.
Puzzles & Chaos: Frozen Castle by BUILDING-BLOCKS NETWORK TECHNOLOGY CO.,LIMITED saw downloads ranging from 27K to 33K, while revenue showed an upward trend, culminating at $473K in the last week of March. Weekly active users steadily increased from 87K to 114K during the quarter.
For Merge County® by Microfun Limited, the downloads had an unusual spike to 12K in mid-March, with other weeks showing minimal activity. Revenue showed a consistent trend, ranging from $162K to $193K, while active users saw a peak at 31K in the same period.
The Simpsons™: Tapped Out maintained a steady download rate of around 10K per week, with active users hovering around 150K throughout the quarter. The revenue for the game peaked at $113K in mid-March.
