During the first quarter of 2024, the top five dating apps in New Zealand showed varied performance across weekly downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at the trends for each app:
Tinder Dating App: Chat & Date saw a steady weekly revenue, peaking at around $57K in the last week of March. Downloads fluctuated slightly but remained close to 2.4K per week. Active users experienced a gradual decline from 118K in early January to approximately 106K by the end of March.
Bumble Dating App: Meet & Date maintained a consistent weekly revenue, reaching a high of about $37K at the beginning of March. Weekly downloads saw a slight decrease from 2.8K to around 2.1K. Active users showed a downward trend, dropping from 63.5K in early January to 57.7K by the end of the quarter.
Hinge Dating App: Match & Meet had a relatively stable weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $18.1K in mid-February. Downloads remained around 2.4K per week, with a slight dip towards the end of the quarter. Active users hovered around 53K throughout the quarter, with minor fluctuations.
Grindr - Gay Dating & Chat showed consistent weekly revenue, peaking at about $12.3K in mid-February. Downloads remained stable, averaging around 450 per week. Active users declined from 7.9K in early January to approximately 6.7K by the end of March.
Badoo: Dating. Chat. Friends experienced steady weekly revenue, with a peak of about $5.5K in early March. Downloads varied slightly, averaging around 400 per week. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 15.6K and 17.4K throughout the quarter.
