In the first quarter of 2024, the top 5 food and diet tracking applications in Europe demonstrated varied performance in terms of weekly revenue, downloads, and active users. Here is a detailed look at how each app fared.
YAZIO Calorie Counter & Diet saw a notable decline in weekly revenue, starting at approximately $1.2M in early January and gradually decreasing to around $560K by the end of March. Weekly downloads also followed a downward trend, beginning at over 306K in the first week and dropping to about 139K in the last week of the quarter. Weekly active users fluctuated, peaking at around 3.3M mid-quarter before settling at approximately 3.1M by the end of March.
MyFitnessPal: Calorie Counter experienced a more stable performance. Weekly revenue fluctuated, starting at about $485K, dipping to a low of $335K, and then maintaining an average around $400K towards the end of the quarter. Weekly downloads showed a consistent decline from 127K in the first week to approximately 79K in the last week. Active users also saw a downward trend from 3.4M in early January to just under 3M by the end of March.
Calorie Counter + from NutraTech Ltd showed a steady revenue stream, starting at around $311K and ending close to $208K. Downloads were relatively low, beginning at 39K and decreasing to about 19K by the end of March. Active user numbers were modest, starting at approximately 148K and maintaining around 123K towards the end of the quarter.
Lifesum: Diet and Food Tracker observed a steady decline in revenue, starting at around $319K and ending at approximately $167K. Weekly downloads followed a similar pattern, starting at 85K and dropping to 33K. Active users fluctuated but maintained a range between 930K and 1.1M throughout the quarter.
Finally, the WeightWatchers Program showed varied performance. Weekly revenue started at $107K and increased to a peak of $163K, before settling around $136K. Downloads were consistently low, starting at 39K and ending at about 11K. Active users remained relatively stable, starting at 114K and ending around 83K.
