In the first quarter of 2024, the Match 3 gaming category has shown varying trends across the top five games in the United States. Utilizing data from Sensor Tower, we can delve into the specifics of each game's performance on the unified platform.
Royal Match by Dream Games maintained a strong revenue stream, peaking at $16.7M in early January and sustaining above $14M throughout the quarter. Downloads saw a gradual decrease from 550K to 326K, while weekly active users hovered around 1.2M to 1.3M.
King's Candy Crush Saga, a long-standing favorite, also experienced a steady revenue trend with numbers fluctuating between $10M and $11.9M. Weekly active users remained robust, initially at 2.2M and rising to around 2.3M by the end of March. Downloads showed a slight decline from 253K to 220K.
Peak Games' newcomer Match Factory! witnessed an impressive revenue growth from $954K to over $2.1M. The game's weekly active users saw a significant increase, starting at 371K and climbing to 757K. Downloads peaked in early February at 249K before settling to 203K by the quarter's end.
Fishdom from Playrix showed consistent revenue around the $2.5M to $2.7M range. Downloads began at 250K and experienced a downward trend, concluding at 92K in late March. Weekly active users started at 844K, dipped to around 596K, and recovered to 628K.
Lastly, Travel Town - Merge Adventure by Magmatic Games Ltd displayed a solid revenue increase from $1.1M to $1.8M. The game's downloads fluctuated, with a peak at 176K, and ended the quarter with a slight rise to 146K. Weekly active users showcased growth from 385K to 489K.
