During the first quarter of 2024, the top 5 social networking applications in Austria showed varied performance in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, provides an insightful look at the trends for these popular apps.
Threads, an Instagram app experienced a fluctuating trend in weekly downloads, starting the quarter strong with 39K downloads and dipping to around 16K by mid-February. A recovery was noted towards the end of March, reaching approximately 19.7K downloads. Active users for Threads saw a continuous increase, growing from 116K at the start of January to nearly 206K by the end of March.
WhatsApp Messenger maintained a relatively stable download rate, averaging around 14K downloads per week with a slight peak at 17.4K in mid-March. Active users remained impressively high, consistently around 5.4M throughout the quarter.
Telegram Messenger showed steady weekly revenue, peaking at $7.1K in late February. Downloads hovered around 9K per week, with a slight uptick to 10K at the end of March. Active users fluctuated but generally stayed above 600K, peaking at 644K in mid-March.
Facebook had a notable spike in downloads in late February, reaching 31K, but generally maintained a steady rate of around 10K downloads per week. Weekly revenue varied, peaking at $5.3K in early January. Active users remained robust, consistently around 1.8M, with a peak of 2M in late February.
Discord - Talk, Play, Hang Out showed consistent weekly revenue, peaking at $13.1K in early March. Downloads were stable, averaging around 5K per week. Active users hovered around 380K, peaking at 401K in late January.
