In the first quarter of 2024, the top 5 social networking applications in Estonia showcased diverse performance trends on a unified platform. Here’s a closer look at their weekly downloads and revenue patterns.
Threads, an Instagram app had a varied download trend throughout the quarter. Starting the year with approximately 2.8K downloads, the numbers saw a dip mid-January to around 1.8K but recovered to reach a peak of about 3K in the last week of March.
WhatsApp Messenger maintained a relatively stable download pattern. Weekly downloads ranged from around 1.7K to 2.3K, with a slight peak in early March at approximately 2.3K. Revenue remained consistent at $1 per week, with a minor increase to $2 in mid-March.
Telegram Messenger experienced fluctuations in both downloads and revenue. Downloads hovered between 1.4K and 2K, with a slight rise in the last week of March to about 1.7K. Revenue peaked at approximately $2.3K in mid-February and remained relatively high throughout the quarter, concluding at around $1.7K.
Facebook saw a significant spike in downloads towards the end of February, reaching nearly 3.2K. The average weekly downloads were around 1.2K to 1.4K for the rest of the quarter. Revenue showed some variability, peaking at $460 in the second week of January and ending the quarter at around $298.
Google Meet had steady but modest download numbers. Starting with around 320 downloads in the first week of January, it saw a notable rise to approximately 1.4K in late January. The downloads then stabilized, averaging around 400-500 per week for the remainder of the quarter.
