In Q2 of 2024, the fitness and weight loss app category on Android saw varied performances from its top contenders in the US market. Sensor Tower provides detailed insights into how these apps fared in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users.
YAZIO Food & Calorie Counter showed a fluctuating pattern in revenue, peaking at around $6K in early April and late May but dipping to approximately $4K towards the end of June. Downloads ranged between 475K to 833K, while weekly active users hovered between 8K and 9K, reaching a high in mid-April.
Strava: Run, Bike, Hike experienced a notable increase in revenue, climbing from approximately $3K in early April to over $5K in mid-June. The app's downloads saw highs of 846K in late April, with weekly active users consistently staying above 8K throughout the quarter.
Geocaching® had a revenue trajectory with a significant peak at over $4K in late April and again in early June. Downloads for the app showed a peak of 710K in early May, while active users saw a high of 1.7K in the same month.
Sports Tracker Running Cycling from Suunto demonstrated a steady revenue with a peak at about $2.2K in early June. The app's downloads maintained a level above 500K, peaking at 945K in early April, with active users showing a slight decline from 8K to 7K over the quarter.
Lastly, Fitbit showed a revenue increase from below $1K to nearly $1.7K by the end of June. Downloads remained relatively low compared to other apps, with numbers mostly below 100K, but active users stayed consistently around 7.5K to 7.8K.
