In the second quarter of 2024, the top five News and Magazines apps on the Android platform in the Netherlands demonstrated a range of performance trends in weekly downloads, revenue, and active users. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, provides a detailed insight into these trends.
RTL Nieuws & Entertainment from RTL Nederland B.V. experienced notable fluctuations in its weekly downloads, peaking at around 5.2K in early May. Weekly active users saw a slight decline from approximately 118K at the beginning of April to 108K by the end of June. Revenue for this app remained relatively stable, with a slight peak at $281 in the last week of June.
NOS maintained a steady increase in weekly downloads, reaching approximately 6.5K by the end of June. The app also saw a significant rise in weekly active users, starting from around 379K at the beginning of April and peaking at approximately 440K in early May.
RD from Erdee Media Groep had a relatively stable download rate, with weekly downloads fluctuating between 1.3K and 2K throughout the quarter.
TVgids.nl - Dutch TV Guide showed a mixed trend in weekly downloads, peaking at around 1.7K in early April and then fluctuating throughout the quarter. Weekly active users saw a slight decline from approximately 31K at the beginning of April to around 28K by the end of June. Revenue for this app also fluctuated, reaching a peak of $39 in mid-June.
NU.nl - Nieuws, Sport & meer from DPG Media Services exhibited a downward trend in weekly downloads, starting from around 801 in early April and dropping to approximately 505 by the end of June. However, the app maintained a relatively high number of weekly active users, peaking at around 511K in early May.
