Diving into the prehistoric app ecosystem, the second quarter of 2024 has seen interesting trends for dinosaur-themed games on the iOS platform in the United States. Data provided by Sensor Tower offers a glimpse into the performance of these titles.
Primal Conquest: Dino Era launched in early April and saw a peak in revenue at $459K in late May, with downloads hitting 419K in the first week. However, by June, both downloads and weekly active users (WAUs) dwindled to zero and 31K, respectively, indicating a sharp decline post-launch.
LEGO® Jurassic World™ presented a steadier performance, with revenues hovering around $10K-$22K throughout the quarter. Downloads and WAUs peaked in the latter half of June, reaching 84K and 96K, respectively, suggesting a growing user base as the quarter progressed.
Studio Wildcard's ARK: Survival Evolved showed a consistent revenue growth, from $43K to $89K over the quarter. Downloads saw a significant jump to 23K in early June, with WAUs increasing slightly to 22K by the end of the quarter.
Calm Sea Enterprise's Steve | Widget Dinosaur Game experienced a more modest quarter. The game had minimal downloads and no reported revenue from late April onward. Active user data for the game was not available.
Lastly, Jurassic World™: The Game by Jam City, Inc. had a remarkable spike in revenue, jumping from $75K to an impressive $523K in mid-June, then settling back to $99K by the quarter's end. Downloads remained low throughout the quarter, with a slight increase to 5K in mid-June, while WAUs were steady, averaging around 27K.
