In the second quarter of 2024, the iOS food delivery service landscape has shown varied performance in terms of downloads and weekly active users across the United States. Here's a snapshot of the performance of the top five food delivery applications, as reported by Sensor Tower.
DoorDash - Food Delivery saw a consistent download range between 220K and 300K throughout the quarter. Weekly active users fluctuated slightly, starting at 13.7M and closing the quarter at 13.3M, indicating a stable user base.
Uber Eats: Food Delivery experienced downloads ranging from 145K to 190K. The app's weekly active users showed a peak of 9.8M mid-quarter before settling around 9.2M towards the end of June.
The DoorDash - Dasher app, targeting delivery personnel, maintained downloads between 130K and 144K. Active users saw an early peak at 1.57M, followed by a dip to around 1.34M by the quarter's end.
For Instacart-Get Grocery Delivery, downloads were primarily in the 68K to 106K range, with weekly active users starting at 1.3M and slightly decreasing to 1.3M, demonstrating a consistent user engagement.
Lastly, Grubhub: Food Delivery showed the lowest downloads among the top five, with numbers ranging from 43K to approximately 116K, and its weekly active users started at 1.24M, dipping to just above 1M by the end of Q2.
