In Q2 2024, the top 5 card battler applications on a unified platform in the United States showcased diverse trends in downloads, revenue, and weekly active users. Here are the key insights based on data from Sensor Tower.
Magic: The Gathering Arena saw fluctuating revenue throughout the quarter, peaking at about $628K in mid-April and ending June with approximately $471K. Downloads showed a general upward trend, starting from 14.7K in early April and reaching around 19K by the end of June. Weekly active users remained relatively stable, averaging about 117K throughout the quarter.
Pokémon TCG Live had a consistent download rate, starting at 23.6K in early April and slightly dropping to around 17.5K by late June. The app maintained a strong user base with weekly active users ranging from 285K to 311K, averaging around 300K for the quarter.
Loop Hero experienced a decline in revenue after its release in late April, starting at $31.8K and dropping to about $11.1K by the end of June. Downloads followed a similar trend, decreasing from 39.4K to approximately 12.7K over the same period. Weekly active users, however, showed an upward trend, growing from 14.3K in early May to 24.2K by the end of June.
NFL 2K Playmakers saw a decline in revenue after its launch in late April, from $24.9K to about $9.3K by the end of June. Downloads dropped significantly from 43.7K in late April to around 10K in late June. Weekly active users data was not provided.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel had variable revenue, peaking at $275K in early April and ending June with approximately $119K. Downloads were steady, averaging around 13K per week. Weekly active users fluctuated, starting at 91.9K in early April, dropping to about 60.8K in late May, and then rising to 85K by the end of June.
