In the second quarter of 2024, the top carpooling and ridesharing apps in Ghana showed varying performance trends. Here's a detailed look at the weekly downloads and active user metrics for these leading apps.
Bolt: Request a Ride saw weekly downloads fluctuating between 16K and 19K. The highest downloads were recorded in early May with approximately 19.1K. Meanwhile, the app maintained a strong presence with weekly active users ranging from 563K to 667K, peaking at around 667.9K at the end of April.
Yango: taxi, food, delivery experienced a steady download rate, averaging about 10K to 13K per week, with the highest spike in the last week of June, reaching around 13.2K. Active users for Yango remained relatively stable, hovering between 90K and 100K throughout the quarter.
Uber - Request a ride had weekly downloads ranging from 4.2K to 5.4K. The app's active user base stayed consistent, with figures between 227K and 248K, showcasing a slight decrease towards the end of the quarter.
Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver showed moderate weekly downloads, varying between 1.1K and 1.5K. Active users for the driver app remained steady, fluctuating slightly around 16K to 17.5K.
Finally, Shaxi had lower download numbers, averaging between 200 and 300 weekly downloads. Despite the lower download rates, Shaxi maintained a consistent presence in the market.
