In the second quarter of 2024, the Food and Diet Tracking app category saw interesting trends in user engagement and download figures across the top applications on a unified platform. Here's a snapshot of how five key players performed during this period, with insights provided by Sensor Tower.
The BMI Calculator experienced a downward trend in both downloads, starting at 1.3K in the first week of April and ending at 190 in the last week of June. Weekly active users also decreased from 2.1K to 827 over the same period.
BodyFast: Intermittent Fasting saw a slight fluctuation in revenue, peaking at 121K USD in the first week of May and dipping to 35K USD mid-June. Downloads moderately declined from 398 to 325, while weekly active users had a slight uptick from 799 to 811 by the end of the quarter.
For the 168 Intermittent Fasting App, revenue varied with a notable peak of 72K USD in the third week of May. Downloads saw a rise in the latter part of the quarter, from 198 to 340, whereas weekly active users showed an overall declining trend, ending at 4.3K from an initial 4.1K.
MyFitnessPal: Calorie Counter generated revenue with some significant peaks, reaching up to 340K USD in the second week of June. Downloads remained fairly stable with a slight increase from 277 to 230 over the quarter. Weekly active users showed a steady increase, finishing at 3.5K in the last week.
Lastly, YAZIO Food & Calorie Counter had a revenue range between 69K and 201K USD. Downloads saw a peak of 360 in the third week of June, with weekly active users increasing from 1.3K to 1.5K during the quarter.
