In the second quarter of 2024, the top five shopping apps in the United States displayed diverse trends across downloads, active users, and revenue, according to data from Sensor Tower. Here’s a closer look at the performance of these apps on a unified platform:
Temu: Shop Like a Billionaire saw a notable increase in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 842K downloads in early April and peaking at about 2.02M downloads by mid-June. The app also maintained a high level of weekly active users, growing from around 21.3M to over 25.2M by the end of the quarter.
SHEIN - Shopping Online experienced a steady trend in weekly downloads, beginning the quarter with about 1.31M downloads and ending with approximately 776K downloads. The app’s weekly active users increased from around 16.4M to over 18.3M by the end of June.
Walmart: Shopping & Savings had consistent weekly downloads, ranging from about 348K to 408K. The app’s weekly active users also showed an upward trend, growing from approximately 11.2M to over 12.1M by the end of the quarter.
Amazon Shopping demonstrated strong revenue performance, starting the quarter with around $2.32M in weekly revenue and peaking at approximately $3.19M in mid-June. The app’s weekly downloads remained stable, hovering around 352K to 393K, while its active users consistently stayed above 44M, reaching 45.7M by the end of June.
AliExpress - Shopping App showed a moderate increase in weekly downloads, beginning at about 260K and rising to nearly 295K by the end of the quarter. The app’s weekly active users fluctuated, starting at around 5.09M and ending at about 4.63M.
