In the second quarter of 2024, the top 5 social networking apps in Latin America showed varied performance in terms of downloads, revenue, and weekly active users. Here’s a closer look at their trends:
WhatsApp Messenger saw a fluctuating revenue trend, peaking at approximately $121 in the week of June 10. Downloads were strong throughout the quarter, with a notable peak of 2.9M in the same week. Weekly active users consistently hovered around 313M, demonstrating its steady user base.
Facebook experienced stable revenue, maintaining around $100K per week, with a slight increase mid-quarter. Downloads were relatively steady, with minor fluctuations, peaking at approximately 2.5M in mid-June. Weekly active users remained robust, close to 302M, with a slight dip to 300M towards the end of June.
Threads exhibited an interesting trend in downloads, starting at around 1.2M and peaking at 1.6M in early June. The app's weekly active users showed a significant increase, reaching around 32M in the week of June 3, before settling at approximately 24M by the end of June.
Telegram Messenger had a stable revenue trend, ranging from $64K to $78K weekly. Downloads peaked at approximately 1.4M in mid-June, while weekly active users remained consistent around 29M, showing minor fluctuations throughout the quarter.
Messenger showed a steady revenue stream, with minor increases, peaking at $363 in early May. Downloads ranged between 1.1M and 1.2M, with a slight peak in early June. Weekly active users were stable around 69M, with a minor decline towards the end of June.
